Byron Buxton started last season just as sucky as this. He was sent down twice before he figured it out. He crushes everyone at Triple-A when he gets demoted so maybe the guy just starts the season slow

Rumor has it that Brandon Phillips is a goner as soon as Ozzie Albies is ready for a promotion to the majors. Here is what Manager John Coppolella said exactly; Forgive me if I do not take the comments to mean that ‘Brandon Phillips is disposable’ and ‘Ozzie is anywhere near ready to play in the majors’. Sorry. Maybe I am biased, so in full disclosure, I own Phillips all over the damn place.
Trevor Story might hit 30 homers again but last season he struck out 29.9 percent, and this spring he struck out 34 percent…no rocket science here.

Zack Wheeler showed us last week that he can still throw a 97 mph fastball, the question now is what his innings limit will be in 2017. It looks like the Mets will send him to an extended spring to start the season and the Mets just might go with that six man rotation they are always talking about. Andre Ethier had an epidural shot in his lower back to ease the pain of his mild herniated disc and will miss the next 7-10 days, at least.

Yandy Diaz is hitting .417 with a .548 OBP with seven RBI 12 games this spring. He has walked six times and struck out only three. He has hit and shown good plate discipline at each minor league level and if it were up to Lenny, it would be Diaz playing second base in place of Jason Kipnis to start the season. Due to getting strep throat, Julio Urias has only pitched five innings this spring, putting him at a disadvantage to his competition for a spot in the rotation.
