Manny Machado is walking more than ever, but he is also striking out more than ever, hitting .225 on the season. He threw his big wad of gum at a bird yesterday, and his antics are much more disturbing when he is batting .225 than when he is hitting bombs. Ugh.
Kela came into a non save situation last night and threw his 97 mph fastball for a scoreless ninth inning. GM Jon Daniels says Matt Bush is first in line for saves but the Rangers depend on Bush’s ability to pitch more than an inning if necessary so don’t be quick to assume he will take over as closer long term.
