Week 4 Tips

Tips for 2019: (From the Week Three Waiver Article)

This is the year of the wide receivers in the NFL. We’ve had receivers outperform running backs through the first three weeks of the season. While every defense is focusing on stopping the running game this year, most teams can’t stop the receivers downfield. There seems to be an inconsistency on most teams backfields so far into the league. Just a fair warning that if this does continue through the season, look for people to go wide receiver heavy in 2019 fantasy drafts. We will probably be looking at teams going back to the “Zero RB drafts,” giving us the opportunity to take advantage of the quality running backs getting drafted later in the early rounds.

Bye Weeks:

We are now entering the bye weeks! This week the Carolina Panthers and Washington Redskins are on the bye week. At this point, you should still have a suitable backup for most of the key positions for those teams. But, as we enter further into the season and more injuries come around to be sure to keep an eye on when your starters have their bye weeks. Don’t be the team to put up a zero for the week, because you forgot to pick up a quarterback or starting running back before your bye week.

If you have a top defense, such as the Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, or Los Angeles Rams I would just hold onto those defenses and avoid dropping them for another defense. You can either take a zero for the week with those defenses or wait until the week of the bye week to pick up a good streaming defense. You shouldn’t be using Washington as your starting defense, and Carolina is probably not even on your roster. As we get further into the bye weeks, we’ll discuss good streaming defenses.
