Should the Phillies miss out on all the big-ticket free agents, a strong possible alternative could be A.J. Pollock. Odubel Herrera’s second-half slide was well documented and one may wonder if his stock has irreversibly fallen in the minds of team management.

Odubel Herrera hit 16 home runs, batted in 52, scored 47 runs, stole five bases and had an AVG/OBP of .275/.327 in the first half of 2018. In the second half he only hit six home runs, 1batted in 19, scored 17 runs didn’t even try to steal a base and earned an AVG/OBP of .214/.279. He finished the season with a negative defensive score for the first time in his career. (-9.0).

Antonio Senzatela threw his fifth quality start in seven total games started in the majors. He has a 3.12 ERA in four starts at home in Coors Field and is 5-1 with a 2.86 ERA overall. The downside is that he rarely strikes batters out, 4.91 K/9. David Price threw around 60 pitches in a simulated session yesterday, and is scheduled to throw a light bullpen session tomorrow.
