The Reds add a third arm to the rotation this off-season again in the form of trade. Cincinnati acquired Sonny Gray from the Yankees in exchange for second base prospect Shed Long.
Gray will complement other off-season acquisitions Alex Wood and Tanner Roark and provides the Reds with yet another established pitcher in the rotation.
In terms of a season outlook for the Reds, here are my projections for the club assuming everyone has a full and healthy season.
Rotation
- Sonny Gray (12-7, 3.82 ERA)
- Alex Wood (14-9, 3.35 ERA)
- Luis Castillo (10-9, 4.05 ERA)
- Tanner Roark (9-12, 4.23ERA)
- Anthony DeSclafani (10-14, 4.53 ERA)

Scott Schebler will also be used frequently off the bench, I predict he will be new manager David Bell‘s favorite bench bat and will hit .252 with 13HR and 29RBI off the bench this year and serving as a utility outfielder.
