Red Sox lose long-time writer Nick Cafardo

Long-time Red Sox beat writer and columnist, Nick Cafardo died in Fort Myers, covering the Red Sox at Spring Training. Cafardo died of an apparent embolism. He was 62 years old.

Cafardo worked for The Boston Globe since 1989, and has been covering the Sox for the past 15 years. He will truly be missed, for as good a writer he was, he was an even better person, and respected by all. He leaves his wife and two children.

He will be missed. Godspeed Mr Cafardo.
