Hot stove sizzles with news of New York Yankees in 3-team-deal for Noah Syndergaard

There have been rumors before that the New York Yankees were interested in Mets aces Jacob deGrom and Noah Syndergaard, but none so compelling as the full-blown rumor fans woke up to this morning. Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic reports on Twitter that:

From Rosenthal’s hint that the Mets would part with Syndergaard for the right combination of players in return came the rumors that the Yankees would have to send Miguel Andujar to the Mets and Estevan Florial to the Miami Marlins in order to acquire Syndergaard.

Syndergaard , 26, is due to earn nearly $3M in 2019 and is eligible for free agency in 2022.

More importantly, Rosenthal tweets that the Mets, traditionally not open to trading with the Yankees, may have a new mindset under new General Manager Brodie Van Wagenen. Rosenthal says:

Watch out for this blockbuster three-team-deal to quickly happen or disappear in a puff of smoke as so many rumors do.
