Injuries

I mentioned in yesterday’s podcast that Eduardo Rodriguez fell down in the bullpen before his start Thursday. He pitched through five innings but allowed seven runs which included four home runs. Then came the swelling..

After stealing nine bases over the last month, Cameron Maybin was sent to the disabled list with a left oblique muscle contusion. He is expected to return when eligible.

It looks like he should be OK in five to seven days. Right now it’s better to err on the side of caution and give him all the time he needs. He keeps getting better every day, but if he would try to push it right now, we would be at risk of losing him for an extended period of timeMike Scioscia

Jameson Taillon made it through five innings in rehab number two at Triple-A Indianapolis.

Ryan Braun is running on a treadmill but has no timetable for his return.

Alex Wood is expected to start throwing this weekend and could return sometime next week

Huston Street suffered a setback when his right triceps stiffened up on him after pitching back-to-back days. He doesn’t expect to throw again for a week.

By the third inning I was really tired and my control suffered, but I still thought I could get some outs for us and ended up hurting us again. I was just trying to be as much of a team player as I could and go out there and manufacture outs any way that I could.Odorizzi on his Outing
