Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

is officially competing in this year’s home run derby, and I think it is great. This is supposed to be for the fans and there is no doubt that the fans want to see Vlad Jr. – the fans love this guy.  He will be the youngest participant in the history of the event.

Other participants this year include Carlos SantanaChristian Yelich – Pete Alonso – Josh BellRonald Acuna Jr.  and two more to be named by tonight at 10pm

O.J Simpson

WANTS TO BECOME A FANTASY FOOTBALL ANALYST – HE WILL GET LISTENERS – VOWS TO

WAIVER WIRE

Maikel Franco (PHI-3B)

Is real hot right now so if he happens to be available in your league, you might try to find a spot for him. He rarely strikes out.

Probably available in half the leagues after the horrible slump he recently went through. He lost playing time for a bit,

Brandon Workman (BOS-RP)

is an effector. He affects game outcomes. He gets wins and now he is getting saves. The Red Sox plan to use Nathan Eovaldi (BOS-SP/RP) as their closer when he gets activated from Injury.

The plan sounds wonderful to nobody, especially Eovaldi since he made it pretty clear he prefers the role of starting pitcher.

“There were a lot of teams that reached out, wanted me to be a closer, I view myself as a starter, and that’s something I’ve always done my entire career. And I enjoy doing that. So if I had that choice, I still wanted to be a starter.”
– Eovaldi Dec 2018

Dinelson Lamet (SD-SP)

If you have a spot to add a pitcher to your Fantasy rotation with the ability to get wins and lots of strikeouts, go ahead and take a chance on Dinelson Lamet

  • He has an excellent slider, is still working on his fastball command.
  • He has the best chance at sticking in the Padres rotation for the remainder of the season.
  • Fresh back from Tommy John surgery.
  • Expect a pretty strict innings limit, or perhaps a strict pitch count. Doesn’t matter, bid a dollar or two
  • Through three rehab starts in Triple-A, Lamet has 19/4 K/bb ratio and batters hit .185 against him.

LOGAN ALLEN

Was the most added player this past weekend. I hope you didnt go crazy bidding on him because there is a good possibility he loses a spot in the rotation to Lamet. Last outing he allowed six earned runs on seven hits over four innings,  Three strikeouts and two walks.

His game log shows a great first outing. Decent second outing even though he gave up eight hits in six innings. Dinelson Lamet (elbow) is nearing a return from the injured list, so Allen could be in for a move back to Triple-A El Paso whenever Lamet is ready to return to action. In the meantime, his next start is currently scheduled for a Sunday road matchup against the Dodgers.

INJURY UPDATES

HUNTER PENCE

Suffered a setback in first rehab game down at Double-A. He is recovering from a groin injury but he felt tightness in his calf in his final at bat.

  • Pence will join up with the Rangers at home today for a medical evaluation and we should know more about the extent of his injury sometime today.
  • Best case scenario still has Pence out until at least after the All-Star break
  • Be thankful for the production you already got out of Pence because he already produced way more than you had to pay for him.

Yasiel Puig and Pedro Strop

Can Pedro Strop not be such a dick, and please someone tell him to quit wearing his hat like a thug. He talks like he is tough until he gets confronted.

Didn’t have the balls to say how stupid Puig is to his face but jumped on the opportunity to tell the media.

“I told him, ‘Why are you talking? You have a chance to do whatever you need to do on the mound. Now you’re just screaming. It’s not a secret he’s stupid. He’s stupid as f—. I have nothing against him, but he’s stupid. There’s no doubt about it.” –Pedro Strop
