Sean Newcomb became the first Atlanta Braves pitcher with four quality starts in a row to begin his career.

Kevin Gausman pitched 5 ⅓ without an earned run. He struck out four and walked two. He is still a mess according to Paul Sporer at Fangraphs, who wrote an analysis on him just yesterday. Check it out..

Miguel Montero blamed Jake Arrieta for the Nationals’ seven stolen bases, but he is 0-for-31 throwing out base stealers on the season, so it can’t be all his fault.

It really sucked because the stolen bases go to me, and when you really look at it, the pitcher doesn’t give me any time.

So it’s just like, ‘Yeah ok Miggy can’t throw nobody out,’ but my pitcher doesn’t hold anybody on.

That’s the reason why they were running left and right today because they know he was slow to the plate. Simple as that.

It’s a shame that it’s my fault because I didn’t throw anybody out.Montero

Jae-Gyun Hwang, a six-time All-Star in Korea and known for his bat flip, will make his major league debut today at third base today for the Giants

Andrew McCutchen hit .380 with eight home runs and 24 RBIs in 28 games batting sixth. He texted manager Clint Hurdle and let him know he was ready to hit third again, and it happened. Hopefully he continues his hit parade.

Seung Hwan Oh has given up more home runs so far this season, six, than he did all of last season, five.
