On Monday Jose Ramirez set a modern-day record with 14 extra-base hits over a seven-day span. Then yesterday he became the first Cleveland Indian since 1996 with at least two hits in eight straight games.

Anthony Rizzo is amazing at getting on base and putting the Cubbies in a position to score runs and win games. Yesterday he hit his third home run from the leadoff spot on the second pitch of the game.

Adrian Beltre hit career home run number 447 yesterday and tied Miguel Cabrera with 1585 RBI

Corey Seager hit three home runs last night for the second time in his career. He is hitting .415 with four home runs and 13 RBI over the last ten games

Brandon Drury changed his approach at the plate, he stopped swinging at every pitch. Over the last seven games, He is batting .423 with three home runs.

Johan Camargo made his fourth start in five games at third base for the Braves last night. He has a .354 average with five extra base hits, nine RBI and a .500 slugging percentage in 23 major league games

Dylan Bundy has thrown 92 innings so far, putting him on pace for more than 200 innings on the season. Last year he barely threw 100 so the Orioles are going to occasionally push his starts back in order to keep the innings down.

Jose Abreu is the first White Sox player to hit his first 12 homers of the season on the road.

Matt Davidson hit his sixth home run in his last eight games

Avasail Garcia hit home run number 11 last night. He had five last year at this time.

Entering yesterday, Sonny Gray allowed a total of two runs in the first two innings over his first nine starts. Yesterday the Astros scored five runs against Gray in the first inning.

Bud Norris to the disabled list gives Cam Bedrosian a clear shot at the closer role in L.A., for now at least. Huston Street expects to be activated some time this week and Norris is only expected to miss the minimum ten days.

Kennys Vargas was 3-for-33 batting .91 against lefties before he blasted the third longest homer of the season off lefty Derek Holland last night.
