Matt Kemp has reached base in 20 straight games, the second-longest streak of his career. He’s hitting .348.

Freddie Freeman is on pace for 63 homers this season

Pick up and stash Blake Treinen in you have room. The Nationals bullpen is horrible.

Gerrit Cole has a 2.08 ERA over his last six starts, but the Pirates have scored one run or less in five of his eight starts.

The Reds will call up Amir Garrett to start Thursday. He is 3-2 with a 4.25 ERA in six starts with the Reds so far this season.

Lisalverto Bonilla will start Friday at home against Colorado. He made his first start after three years last week and allowed three earned in eight innings. He came in against the Cubs earlier in the season and gave up five earned in four innings of relief.

Yu Darvish became the sixth Japanese pitcher to reach 50 career victories.

Michael Pineda is 3-1 with a 2.63 ERA over his last six outings.

Hector Velazquez will be called up to start for the Red Sox tomorrow in Oakland. Velazquez is 2-1 with a 1.55 ERA in five starts at Pawtucket.

Zack Greinke is 4-0 with a 2.98 ERA over his last five starts. His 46 strikeouts during that time are one shy of his most for a five-game span.

Jake Lamb is hitting .330 with a 1.009 OPS against righties, the fifth-best in the majors among hitters with at least 100 at-bats. (Lamb is hitting .167 against lefties though, ouch)

The Cubbies do not plan to move Kyle Schwarber down in the order even though he is the worst leadoff batter in MLB.

Danny Salazar is 0-2 with 12 earned runs and 20 hits in his last 12 ⅓ innings. In five innings yesterday, he gave up five earned and walked two.

Kyle Freeland’s 65.5 percent ground ball rate is currently second only to Dallas Keuchel among qualified starting pitchers. He is 4-2 with a 3.13 ERA

C.C. Sabathia’s 20 victories against the Royals are second to Justin Verlander, who has beat the Royals 22 times.

Bud Norris is 8 for 10 in save opportunities, and the Angels entire bullpen has improved its run prevention since Norris took over April 22.

Injury Updates

Both Trevor Story and David Dahl will take batting practice with the team today. Story fielded ground balls yesterday without any problems.

Wilson Ramos had his first catching session yesterday, all went well

Yoenis Cespedes might return from the disabled list next Tuesday. He has been hitting ground balls at extended spring training and will start a five day running program today.

Jhonny Peralta and Stephen Piscotty are on track to both be activated from the disabled list this weekend, but that doesn’t mean two position players will go. Magneuris Sierra will likely be sent back to High A Palm Beach, but Tommy Pham will not be going anywhere. Pham is hitting .371 showing above average power, speed and defense.

Team News

The Nationals bullpen is one of the worst in baseball right now with a 5.19 ERA. They almost gave up the lead in the seventh inning, going through two other relievers before Blake Treinen closed out the inning. Keep your eye on him, and if you have room to stash him you should go out and get him.

Colorado pitchers entered yesterday with the best road ERA and opponents’ batting average in the majors They haven’t had a winning record on the road since 2009

The Royals have scored one run or less 13 times this season

The Braves have won four of their past five games. They are 15-21 after 36 games. They were 9-27 last season after 36 games

Cleveland starters rank last in the American League with a 5.25 ERA. They rank 28th in ERA of all 30 MLB teams. They are still striking out batters though, second only to the Red Sox starters in strikeout percentage, with a 9.74 K/9. They are getting a bit unlucky as their LOB% is only 69.2% and opponents BABIP is .317

The Angels lead Major League Baseball with five walk-off wins. They are now back at .500 with a record of 21-21
