The weather outlook for Thursday includes the possibility of snow. The Red Sox/Pirates game has already been postponed. Other games likely to be affected include:

  • Phillies at Reds
  • Marlins at Nationals
  • Braves at Mets

Gary Sanchez, Greg Bird and Matt Holliday are 4 for 37 with one RBI.. Gary Sanchez is off to a 1-for-14 start

Rangers:

I think it’s a little early to reconsider things, We’ve been in this situation before. It doesn’t look good because it’s the start of the season. We got to find a way to figure it out. Paul Goldschmidt stole his 100th base and is now one of five first basemen in major league history with 100 home runs and 100 stolen bases.

Brandon Phillips has hit in all 35 road games against the Mets. It’s the longest road hit streak against one team since 1937.

Martin Prado is close to returning from the DL, perhaps when the Marlins get back home

Michael Saunders was out of the lineup yesterday in order to give Aaron Altherr at-bats. Saunders is not in a platoon and there is no injury here people!

Garrett Richards left the game Wednesday because of a biceps cramp

The Diamondbacks are 9 for 26 (.346) with runners in scoring position. They have scored 18 runs in three games and own a team slash line of .296/.345/.472.

Dylan Bundy threw his slider with confidence, striking out eight with one earned run on four-hits in seven innings.

Tyler Chatwood gave up four earned runs on the road, something he only did one time last season.

Jordan Zimmermann, who was scheduled to pitch Wednesday, has been pushed back to Saturday.

The Royals have seven hits and two runs in two games. The bottom third of the batting order is zero for 23. The pitching staff has issued 16 walks in two games, including nine yesterday.

Jacob deGrom struggled to get his velocity up last season, but showed again last night those struggles are over. He hit 98 mph on his fifth pitch. Since the start of 2016, deGrom has 10 no-decisions, despite a 1.75 ERA in those games
