Cody Asche is not currently on the White Sox 40 man roster, but he is hitting like he should be, with three home runs and eight walks.

Jason Kipnis and Cody Anderson received second opinions on their injuries Friday, and both are likely to begin the season on the DL:

  • Kipnis has a strained right rotator cuff
  • Anderson has a strained UCL in his right elbow

Aaron Nola threw 75 pitches Thursday, 46 of them were strikes. He looks and feels good which is more important than the fact that he walked four batters in the process.

I’m really happy about Nola. It looked comfortable coming out of his hand. He threw a lot of change-ups, which he’s been working on since last year, and it really looked good. It was an effective pitch.
