Some know me as the Fan Addict others as Brian from Jersey. I’m 42 born and raised in Brooklyn. Now married with kids and residing in NJ. I’m a die hard Yankee fan but an overall baseball junkie. I’ve been competing in fantasy baseball since 1996. Like most my days in fantasy started as a kid playing stratomatic, as well as playing with my topps basebards and using stats to compete with my friends, How nice was it to have Ricky Henderson in the early 80’s. Boy have things changed. Nowadays I spend numerous hours on my season long leagues. As most are parting with soesson long I’m going in more and more. Like my name says I’m an addict to fantasy sports

You may have seen me on twitter @rsandersdfs but in real life I go by Ricky Sanders. I’m just a dude who didn’t like his job at one point in time so started writing about fantasy sports on the side and turned it into a career. While I focus mostly on DFS these days, I love talking baseball overall as it helps loop me back into the real world as opposed to my daily wormhole. I recently met Lenny and love what he’s doing here so I’m happy to become part of “Lenny’s Legion”! Lol

Born in June of 1977, I was the reason the Big Red Machine collapsed. Born in Cincinnati, I pride myself on being a realist fan that accepts the highs, but also tries to fix the lows albeit no one listens to my ranting and ravings.

I became a fan of Lenny Melnick listening to XM Fantasy 87 and thankfully Lenny is the most interactive host on the channel and I am a proud member of Lenny’s Legions.

My profits in fantasy sports come mostly from Fantasy Football, but baseball overall, both fantasy and reality, is my passion.

Looking forward to a wonderful time using this site and its various forums.

I worked for Rotowire from 2009-2012 answering expert questions and writing articles. A busy schedule following my children’s sports ventures demanded a sabbatical from the demands of that job. I commish about 5 leagues a year on Yahoo and am always looking for active owners. Only one is a pay league with my close friends and the rest are free as I like to keep it fun. My day and night job is the administrative pastor of a church and Christian school.

Allow me to introduce myself, i am a man of wealth and means…

Just Kidding, I just wanted to use that line from the greatest Rock and Roll Band of all time!. My name is Billy, but my friends call me Billy so you can call me Billy. I am an avid baseball fan ,especially Phillies, so much so that even during our darkest hour I still find time to watch every game. I have enjoyed Baseball ever since I was a kid, listening to By Saam and then the great Harry Kalas. I have been playing fantasy baseball since 2000 and I continue to be amazed at how much it has grown, but I would be remiss in saying I am happy about the direction. I am glad that Lenny and Andrea decided to create this site and at the same time that they let Cha-Cha in . 🙂

I am the other Red Sox fan that has known Lenny through many years of Fantasy Baseball. Can you imagine how difficult it was to be a Red Sox fan growing up in North Jersey? My neighborhood was Yankee territory. Bucky Dent was the cousin to one of my childhood friends. Yet, knowing this fact should convince anyone that I am a true Boston Red Sox fan; I suffered with the best of them.

In 2004 I took my wife to a Yankee Red Sox game in NY. There I held up a sign that read, “Dear Red Sox. Today is my birthday. I do not ask for much just the 2004 World Series Championship!” Of course I was laughed at and booed. Yet when I arrived at game 7 of the 2004 ALCS Championship, Yankee fans were no longer booing. In the end Boston gave me my birthday present and it was the best gift I have ever been given.

I am now still waiting for Lenny to etch into his kitchen table the words, “BOSTON RED SOX WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!” Maybe then I can come over to his kitchen and sign it for him.

Today I am pushing 50 and living in Oklahoma City, OK where I continue to promote Red Sox baseball. We now have three neighbors who are Boston fans. Just doing my part to save the game one story at a time.

Avid baseball fan who has been bleeding the Pinstripes since Donnie baseball came to town. I love the Yanks but can watch just about any game any team as baseball is in my blood. Been playing fantasy football since the mid 90s as well but it’s nothing like my passion for season long fantasy baseball. Never played stratomatic like so many, however LOVED playing a baseball board game called All-star baseball growing up. Happy to be aboard as NO ONE in the industry cares about it more then the Legend.

Hi my name is Craig and I am the alter ego of Lenny Melnick circa 1974. I am the originator of the term “Jean Segura Shorts” and with Patent Pending I am hoping to become as wealthy as the DFS experts this coming year. I have been playing fantasy baseball since the 1980’s, and I traveled around the country with a Commodore 64 and a few Micro League Baseball floppy disks hoping one day to tour with Sam Kinison. Since that didn’t work out I turned my attention to watching reruns of The Jeffersons, hoping to one day quote every line Weezy had for 4 seasons. These days you can find me either translating Lenny’s podcast into Yiddish for the Jewish American Fantasy Sports Association, or standing outside his house with a bucket of water in preparation for the day Andrea inevitably burns the house down. Hi All! I’m Michele from NJ. Born and raised in Philly, I’m a stone cold homer. My love of sports began at 2 years old, listening to Phillies games on a transistor radio with my oh so beloved grandfather. I sat with him every day, looking at baseball cards and listening to amazing stories of legendary players. My favorite cookie is Cookie Rojas.

I’ve played every sport imaginable and was really good, but nobody cared about women’s sports back then. Oh well. I began playing fantasy sports in 2014 and won the championship in an all guys 12 team football league. This is my first year playing fantasy baseball and I’ve made the playoffs. Perhaps there is some truth to beginner’s luck.

I also play daily with very mixed results. I listen to Sirius Fantasy Sports constantly and credit the show hosts with my success. I’m excited to be a part of this community (also my first), and wish all of you the best of luck!

I’ve worked in four different radio stations along the way but what modest amount of work I do now is as an Adjunct Professor for Central Michigan University. I feel very privileged to have been able to visit all of the current major league baseball parks plus many that are no longer in use. Hello everyone,
My name is Raul, I’ve been living in the US since 2002, I’m originally from Lima, Peru…. In Peru, baseball is not as widely popular as here in the states. As a matter of fact, they don’t even have an amateur league. Everything I knew about the sport was the New York Yankees (of course right). However, as I started to get familiar with US lifestyle, sports and popular culture, I discovered Baseball, and rapidly fell in love with it. I felt that I needed to know everything about the sport: the teams, the rivalries, the history, the love, the hate, the trades, stadium food, absolutely everything that had to do with baseball. And then, I fell in love with the New York Mets!!!! I didn’t know at the time, when I was watching Mike Piazza hit HRs for the Mets like a champ, that the NY Metropolitans will put me through suffering after disappointment after suffering, after illusion and excitement, over and over again. But you know what, I never stopped loving them. It’s been 13 years of loyal allegiance to the Mets, through the worst, and through some great moments (who can forget the Andy Chavez catch in game 7 of the NLCS). I will never stop loving the Mets. NEVER. Then in 2013, I discovered fantasy baseball. I didn’t know I could learn more about baseball, but after my first season playing fantasy baseball (finished 3rd, thank you very much), I found myself on January 10th thinking about what catcher to draft, or what rookie I would take on the 22nd round, in the middle of February. It’s definitely a year round passion with Draft day as the new Christmas for me. I’m currently in the playoffs in my league, and I have to say I took my game to a new level thanks to listening to experts on Sirius Xm, like the wonderful Lenny Melnick!!! it could be the jokes, or something else, but Lenny helped me prepared for this year, and added more passion and love from me to this wonderful game!!!! I’m excited to be part of this community, and participate actively with you all!!!! cheers, Raul

That is why I find DFS so compelling. I received my first dose of Lenny the Great when he spoke at the 1997 MLB All Star game. Somehow our league got a copy of the speech and I have been following Lenny every since. He was the first to really tell people to get over it–fantasy was coming to us all, and it was cool!!!! He borught it mainstream for me. I’m super happy that this site is up and that we have the opportunity to interact with one of the best fantasy baseball minds ever to play this game of Fantays Sports. Congrats on the podcats and the new site Lenny!! (Search Winner Take All # to find 20 man leagues for $2 entry every week during fatnasy football season. The REAL Justin Mondry here…
Some of you may already know me well (or at least the facebook or twitter versions of me) from the battles with Jeff Mans and Ted overnight tweeting. To the facebook breakdowns of NFL sunday before daily became what it is now. Back in those days AL Zeidenfield would argue with me often. Also facebook groups my comments are very present. There have been many various facebook groups I have made long expanded comments in and brash predictions against the “expert advice” of others. Charlie Blackmon, George Springer, Joc Pederson have been some of the big names I believed in before others finally bought in.
I’m controversial, passionate and very opinionated.

I have listened to Sirius XM for 5 years and Lenny for that same amount. I may have been the only listener when he was on the the 5am time slot during baseball season a few years back. I’m always up for a little twitter banter. I DESPISE the “skills” of Rotowire and often very vocally critical about easy mistakes and injury updates and bad journalism by that place.

In 2013 I ran NBA fantasy podcast.com doing a weekly column about pickups and strategies to win weekly NBA head 2 head matchups. I also partnered with Carlos Garza to run a podcast for the blog site and updated almost every night the facebook page. I mentioned Rotowire earlier, well some know me from the Jrue Holiday mess. From what I recall I was the ONLY lone voice declaring emphatically he would NOT return that season and he didn’t. Again why I despise Rotowire. Over the last year I have very busy with a girlfriend and I definitely put fantasy sports in the background and way back of my life. Recently she broke up with me and I’m probably going to get very passionate again like I was before…

Hi all my name is Jim but most people in fantasy know me as Fantasytaz. I have been a long time fan of both Lenny and Andrea and I love that they have their own site. I have been playing fantasy since 1991, but mostly football, although I have done some baseball time and again. I play in quite a few leagues each year in almost every type of league. But mostly I love talking about fantasy and am always willing to give an opinion.

I live in NJ and am looking forward to becoming a part of this community.

I am originally from a small town in Southern Illinois, McLeansboro, but lived for many years in the village of New Lenox, outside Joliet in Chicagoland! – Thus, I am a true blue Cubs fan! Hi, My name is Rick (KidRick in the chat room). I am a Gen X’er from northern New England where I support all the local pro teams but have a passion for baseball and football. We have a couple minor league teams up here (Portland Seadogs and New Hampshire Fishercats) and I try to get to their games as often as possible in the summer (50% for the enjoyment of baseball and 50% for fantasy baseball prospecting). I have 15 yrs experience playing season-long fantasy football with friends and family. I have 4 years experience playing season-long fantasy baseball (i created and commission my own league). I am the commissioner of all but 1 league i play in. I have dabbled in DFS but I don’t really enjoy it because I feel like I am always outsmarted by opponents who have more time than I to research and exploit the favorable individual matchups. Not to mention, I dont find satisfaction in the “rush” that accompanies daily gambling (yes, I DID just call DFS what it is, “gambling”). For me, fantasy sports its more about investing my time in a broader overall strategy and appreciating the interactions I have with friends and family while I a playing a game. Thanks, Lenny, for “welcoming me aboard” Lenny’s Legion. I am a proud, t-shirt wearing, member!

I’ve written for websites such as FantasyBaseball.com, FantasyFootball.com, Fanball.com, Fantasyfootballknuckleheads.com and most recently for FFLockerRoom.com where I’m now the Head of Analytics and Statistics, mostly focusing on DFS for football. Hi guys. My name is Michael (gripweed on the chat site – that’s a John Lennon reference to anyone playing at home). I’m a New Yorker living the Boston area. Lifelong Mets, Jets and Rangers fan. Used to be a Knicks fan but not since Ewing and Starks retired. I have been playing fantasy baseball since the days of CDM, where you had to wait for your results to be mailed to you every week. No computers back then! I have a home league back in NY with some friends and former coworkers that I’ve been a part of for 9 years. I have won that league twice and finished in the money in all but 2 of those years. I attribute my success there to my knowledge of baseball as well as the advice I solicit from people like Lenny Melnick.

I have listened to the Fantasy Sports Channel on Sirius/XM for 4 years now. I won the Listener’s League from the Fantistics 2 years ago, beating out the likes of Drew Dinkmeyer and Lou Bilasi.

While I love Fantasy Sports (I dabble in football and hockey)) I really don;t appreciate the Daily Fantasy craze. I think it is sapping all of the fun and interest I ususally have gotten from the Fantasy Sports Channel. I honestly don’t listen much in the non-baseball season because it’s all football all the time. While I do pop in there on Sunday mornings on the way to work (I work at a Hotel so weird hours for me) to get some quick lineup tips, I would love to hear some more balance and a little bit of baseball in the fall and winter months.

Anyway, I think the purest part of Fantasy Sports in the yearly leagues, and not the Daily leagues that are so prevalent today. The Daily game reminds of what Fred and Barney or Lucy and Ethel would dream up – get rich quick schemes. I don’t have the time, money or inclination to pour through the umpire strike calling tendencies among left handed pitchers who play their games in humid weather conditions. I do get the fact that there is an awful amount of thought that goes into being a winner in the Daily game, but it’s just not for me. Maybe when I retire and can spend my days combing through the lefty/righty/weather condition/ apothecary charts. Ugghh!

Anyway, thanks for having me here. Lenny. Thrilled to be a part of it all, although with my work wked I can’t be around very much. I’ll pop in and out as I can.

Let’s go Mets! Let’s go Jets! And Potvin Sucks!!!!

    My best to all,

    Michael

That is more than likely why myself and Mr. Melnick have become friends over a bagel and a few hard-boiled eggs in New Jersey. I am also a huge sports card collector / investor. I was the only kid in the third grade with a Al Kaline Rookie card in my binder while my friends had 1981 Robin Younts. I am also married with four kids living in the house and a cat, that is currently rubbing himself against my arm as I am tryint to type purring. At least he’s happy. I also play darts and pool and believe I would be better served if they were available in a fantasy format. Anyway, hello.

I recently published my first book, Unlikely Champions, A Miracle in Williamsport, which celebrates the 25th Anniversary of how the 1989 Trumbull CT Little League team pulled off one of the biggest upsets in Little League World Series history, when they knocked off the heavily-favored team from Taiwan.  It is an American baseball story finally…and finely told.

I have been playing fantasy sports since the now out of business sports only newspaper the national was in business(a long time), were me and my friends would have to calculate stats and standing by hand on paper each week.  I only play season long, not a dfs guy and i love leagues that use the newer more accurate stats such as OPS over simple avg.  and leagues that use the combo stat of saves+holds so you’re not chasing saves all season.

I work at Coca-Cola, and I’m the one who got the “Lenny Legend” bottles for our great host.  I have no official work in the baseball industry, just enjoy it and fantasy sports. I refuse to play DFS because I don’t need any more of my time consumed by sports.   I’m pro points and H2H leagues.  Not to say I don’t enjoy roto, just not my first choice.  I once kept Corey Luebke over Mike Trout.  My worst trade ever was Brady (year he threw 50 TDs) and Chad Johnson for Shaun Alexander.  My favorite player that I’ve met was Mark Grace who I ran into at a college dive bar  (Dana’s) at Xavier University.

In 1987 I purchased Waggoner and Okrent’s Rotisserie baseball.  Started with a 6 team, $5 league.  By the late 90’s we had 2, 12 team $100 leagues, one AL and one NL.

I still remember my first fantasy football league(around 1996).  Rushing TD’s worth 6, passing TD’s worth 3 for WR, 3 for QB, Defense scored any actual points accumulated by defensive players and returners.  That was it, no bench, no yards, no PPR.

I live in Maine woods with my wife and the most spoiled great dane on the planet.

    Hey folks,

Tankman here from lovely Central NJ.  I’ve been playing Fantasy Sports since the beginning of the internet.  Before that messed around with Strat-o-matic.  I would like to think I can hold my own in DFS…only in tournies where there is 1 entry, to me 1 entry tournies is real skill not stacking tournies with 100+ entries, you might as well call that a LOTTERY!  I remember like 4 yrs ago I was sitting on top of the tourney that sends you to Vegas (MLB) for the whole evening until like 1:15 am est and got knocked out and finished 2nd and finished another time 5th.  Other than that I am a big fan of the Yanks, Devils, Minnesota Vikings and Brooklyn Nets.   You can see me on FD I play mostly single entry tournies with some over stacked tournies.  SEem like a great site and thanks for the invite Len!

    Sincerely,

Eventually I had the privilege of recording a podcast in that office and my love for baseball has been growing ever since! Where to start let’s start off with a bang Kansas City Royals 2015 World Champs. As you can tell big baseball guy got involved at a young age around 5 years old was already in the crouch position at first base. This hobby of mine continued all through my junior years. I soon became aware of no majors in my future this didn’t stop me from my passion for baseball though. Came across an article Jason Whitlock had up he was a local writer for Kansas City Star involving a startup fantasy football league yes I said football no baseball I could find at least, so I joined was a very cool concept I thought like wow this could take off if some big backers got behind fantasy sports. Step into 2004 I find out from my girlfriend at the time I will be a father, now it’s time for the big boy pants to come on, see for the first time in my life I have some one to support and give my full attention too. No more play time or getting in trouble, looking for a new job I come across a couple opportunities. A step up in my previous company or sports writing gig that had big upside I thought at least, yes love to take chances. Struggled for a couple years until a light came on coach kids. So I got involved with any thing regarding coaching of any sport big industry. Made a couple dollars then my big payoff came when a buddy of mine came across a daily site we chatted over two hours about this site I invested a couple bucks won some lost some but made very reliable sources that help me in my present job.

As you can tell I’m a chatter box see I don’t think I’ve  introduced my self yet. I’m a 35 year old man born and raised in Kansas City Missouri my wife Jennifer is my best friend, we have two beautiful kids Victor and Carmen.

I am a husband and father of 2 minions and a puppy from Baltimore, MD.  My kids are my life and at young ages have developed a passion for baseball, like I did when I was 4.  I wish they both liked the Orioles, but my oldest loves the Nationals.  I love talking about baseball history and when it comes to the Orioles, I always for some reason start with the 1988 season when we started 0-22. I watch Orioles classics games when they are on.   Most Oriole fans despise the Yankees and Red Sox, but I think of the Blue Jays as team I love to beat most.

    Hello Everyone-

I am from California’s central coast and i am a huge Oakland Athletics, Golden State Warriors, and Miami Dolphins (WTF) fan.  I know the dolphins make no sense but i have always been anti-bandwagon and when i started watching football the Niners were insanely good and the Raiders were in LA, so Marino was my guy and i never looked back.

I know this is mostly baseball focused so i will get back there… My earliest baseball memory is turning on the Battle of the Bay world series game 3 at home, only to be interrupted by the Loma Prieta earthquake.  I was only 5 years old but baseball was already my favorite thing.  Since 89 i have watched the A’s have their moments of domination only to fall short in the first round (damn Yankees and Tigers) of the playoffs repeatedly.  I am still a believer in Billy and his disciple Forst and look forward to providing some insight into Green Collar baseball for you East coasters that don’t want to stay up past midnight to watch a 2-1 game.

I have been playing fantasy sports for well over a decade with my first venture being a rotisserie hoops league run through AOL in the late 90s that i had to use my mom’s credit card to join.  Since then i have pretty much played baseball, football, and hoops every season.  i am all about season long because i do it for the competition with my friends and bragging rights rather than all for the money.  I am a firm believer that the best fantasy leagues involve a live draft, punishment for last place, and a forum for daily banter between players and i do my best to facilitate that in the leagues that i commission.

I discovered Lenny on Sirius XM radio over the last few years and have enjoyed following his content through social media.  I am glad to join this site and hopefully gain new knowledge and insight on the game that I love!

    Greetings all,

Met Lenny through Sirius and on twitter. Fantasy sports is a way of life. If I’m not toiling over roster moves in my 16-team MLB league, I’m prepping for NFL or NHL. Born and raised in New Jersey.  A lifelong Mets, Devils and Giants fan. When I could stomach NBA games the Knicks were my team–when defense was first and Ewing, Oakley and Mason ruled the Garden paint. I spent a decade in the newspaper business. I wanted to be a sports writer but settled into a short career on the politics and crime beat. Now reformed and to my sense’s I am a career firefighter and paramedic. Look forward to listen to other legionaires’ takes on fantasy sports.

My twitter account is @jimbohorton – I have been in fantasy baseball leagues since 1986 – I am a huge St. Louis Cardinal fan even though they have done nothing in the off-season to improve the club – I attended the First Pitch Arizona 2014 and met Lenny at that symposium. My bucket list includes attending games at every major league stadium – I have 16 completed at this time and plan to take another Jay Buckley Tour to get a number of the west coast parks. I had a few DFS attempts but the multiple entries and bad publicity has soured me on those. I will be in 5 to 6 leagues for the 2016 season.

    Hello Everyone,

My name is Stephen Nemenz and I’m currently an elementary school principal.  I have been playing fantasy sports since 2002; mostly season long leagues (baseball, basketball, and football), but have gotten into DFS recently and love it.  As like most, talking fantasy sports has taken over my life and I have started the process of writing and contributing.  I have recently taken a correspondents position at FantasyPros for their NBA division covering the Cavaliers.

I’m from Erie, Pennsylvania so my team allegiances lie in Cleveland where I’m a die hard Browns and Indians fan.  You can all pass along your sympathies.  Being in Erie does have its minor league benefits, as we are the hometown to the Erie Seawolves, a long time Double-A affiliate to the Detroit Tigers, the Erie Otters (last years OHL runner-up), and the Erie Bayhawks of the NBA D-League (Orlando Magic affiliate).  We have seen great talent come through our small town and I couldn’t ask to live in a better part of the country.  Well, besides the weather.

I’m glad to be a part of this community and I look forward to many conversations.

You can find me on Twitter @Stephen_Nemenz

Hey guys, this is Matt and I’m from Kenosha, Wisconsin.

I’ve been playing fantasy sports since Sandbox, which was then bought out by yahoo a while ago (in the dial-up internet days)

I’m all Wisconsin fan, Brewers, Packers, Bucks, Badgers.

I love playing fantasy baseball with all the numbers and strategy.

I also support Daily Fantasy Sports, who cares if people want to spend money on something, is that not a freedom?  The government should focus on other important areas that need help.  They are probably just mad because they haven’t taxed all that money.

Hi I’m John I’m 50 and I have a passion for scouting. I go to a lot of Sally games (South Atlantic League of Minor League Baseball, single-A) and I write about the players that I see.  You’ll find tons of scouting reports and prospect lists at my site notesfromthesally.com thanks.

I started playing fantasy baseball in  the mid-90’s and reluctantly joined a dynasty league eight years  ago I didn’t know a thing about the minors but quickly realized that’s where I can gain an advantage, everyone knew the majors but there were jewels to be had in the minors, so I read everything I could get my hands on.

I’m a fan of the Red Sox, Bruins and Syracuse Orange Basketball.  Also a big music and tech guy.

Tommy Lasorda was once quoted as saying, “I bleed Dodger blue and when I die, I am going to the big Dodger in the sky”, I believe that tells a very long story in one sentence about my self.

I live on the east coast, Atlanta to be exact, but live and breathe blue, it consumes me.  Long story short, my dad is from Philly and used to listen to Red Barber and Vin Scully on the radio when the Dodgers were still in Brooklyn.  He kept up with the Dodgers over the years and taught his east coast sons to be Dodger fans.  I have now taught my son’s to be Dodger fans and went as far as naming one of my son’s Clayton Matthew after Kershaw and Kemp.  (My dad tried to name me Fernando when I was born in the 80’s, my mom threatened to leave him if he did it)

From a fantasy standpoint, I have technically been playing since late 1990’s.  I remember playing this mail in version of fantasy baseball in the Baseball Weekly (now known as Sports Weekly).  I was introduced to salary cap fantasy in the early 2000’s and then shortly after, rotisserie.

For the rest of sports, Atlanta Falcons, Georgia Bulldog’s & Penn State (NCAAF), UCONN (NCAA Basketball), Pittsburgh Penguins, Manchester United (Premier League), Barcelona (La Liga) and for the NBA, I can’t stand it.

I am married with two son’s, 8 and 3, and I coach High School Baseball for a living.

Hello Lenny Melnick fantasy sports fam! My name is Carlos, I am born and bred from The Bronx, NY but have been living on Long Island since the early 2000s. I am an avid fantasy baseball and football player. My favorite sport is Baseball. My late dad introduced me to the sport of Baseball and his favorite player, Roberto Clemente. He told me many things about him and all he represented to the country of Puerto Rico and the influence of Latinos in Baseball as a whole. I am a proud veteran of the US Army. My journey there, helped me develop as the man I am today.

I met Lenny at Ron Shandler’s Baseball HQ’s First Pitch forum in New Jersey. I thought Lenny was a class act! He kindly said hello and called me “kiddo” WHAT A GUY, I TELL YA, WHAT… A GUY!!

I’ve always wanted to be in the business of baseball, hopefully working for a Major League Baseball team as a scout or in front office. I even took an online course for Baseball GM and scout. I had the honor of interviewing current GM, for the Houston Astros, Jeff Luhnow and the director for International Scouting, Mike Elias. I learned a TON about the scouting side and front office side. These two gentlemen were amazing. After speaking with them, I can see why the Astros will be a franchise that’s going to make noise for a very long time. We’ve already saw that this past season.

Like I mentioned before, I love the game of baseball, although not a historian, I am very well versed on the subject of pitching, sabermetrics, and overall concepts of the game. I signed up to be a part of this site because I would like to share my passion for the sport and fantasy sports as well. Let’s take a ride together and learn from each other. Most importantly, LET’S HAVE FUN!

I’ve been playing fantasy baseball since 90′.  Off an on I play fantasy football, but I’m not crazy as I am with baseball.   I’m a huge fan of anyone on any of my teams, until I trade them of course.    I don’t consider myself an expert at/on anything.  Play in about 3-5 leagues a year: 2 old school 4×4 leagues,(one started in 89 and the other in 94) one AL and one NL, one 20 team mixed, and whatever else I can find.    I love talking baseball anytime and I’m looking towards another fun year.

Good evening all, thought I would introduce myself as I may be frequenting this site as the baseball season approaches.  My name is Brett Johnson, 42 year old from Calgary, Alberta and the biggest Royals fan north of the border! (since 1980) #ForeverRoyal   I have been playing fantasy sports since 1999 and have hosted leagues shortly after that.  Started with a fantasy play league using NHL96 game on the pc.  Had a website with stats, standings, message board, trade forums and more, called the Rokhed Hockey League.  In about 2005 started hosting standard fantasy leagues in baseball, football, hockey and golf.

Right now all the big sports at Rokhed are Dynasty leagues with 20 teams, 20 GM’s and waiting lists of at least a couple GM’s.  The guys are very experienced as they need to deal with 20 teams of 25 man rosters, so the league is very deep and challenging!   I have listened to Lenny for years on XM and online, and why I continue to follow him is because he is not like the new fantasy nerds that ONLY play daily leagues and think they know baseball.  Lenny has proven to be a great resource for me and others in my leagues over the years.

I hope to get into some conversations with some of you over the next few months as spring training nears. 🙂  Should be entertaining.  Please feel free to email me @ Commissioner@Rokhed.ca or visit my site http://www.Rokhed.ca if you want to chat fantasy anything. …..but especially baseball.

    Thanks,

    Brett (aka Rokhed)

Hello Everyone. I am Elaine. I’ve always been a fan of sports. I admire talent. I grew up playing soccer and watching sports with my Dad. We mostly watched boxing, tennis, baseball and football. I, later, branched out and started watching hockey. My football team is the 49ers. I grew up in South Carolina so I am often asked why the 49ers. There were no Panthers when I was growing up. Everyone in South Carolina picked a team. I was an early teenager with hormones beginning to affect my decision-making skills – Joe Montana. I’ve been a 49ers fan since.

I started playing fantasy football 3 years ago and added baseball 2 years ago. I’ve played fantasy hockey, Nascar, baseball, and English Premier League. I find that playing other sports helps with overall fantasy playing skills and strategy. Baseball seems to be my nemesis. I have not won a fantasy baseball season yet. Fingers crossed for this year…

Currently, I live in Annapolis, MD. So, I catch games at Camden Yards and Nationals Park. I love going to Camden Yards. My goal is to go to more stadiums – football and baseball. So, maybe, I’ll see some of you there! Nice to meet you all.

    Cheers,

    Elaine

Hello All – I am Rick.  I started playing Fantasy Football in 1988.  I moved to Philly in Oct. 1999.  I never played a day of baseball or even attended a baseball game until my Father-in-Law became aware of that fact and promptly bought tickets for Game 4 of the 1999 World Series… that is right, my first baseball game was Roger Clemons v. John Smoltz with the NYYs sweeping the series from the Braves.  Smoltz threw 11Ks, but Roger countered with 17GBs and I left old Yankee Stadium being re-born!!  The next year my father-in-law asked if I could draft for his best friend in a roto baseball league he and his buddies created in 1986.  He knew I was a Fantasy Football freak, and thought I would enjoy baseball.  Of course I said yes and I prepared to draft in spring 2001 for my first roto baseball draft ever ……

…….. and to this day I apologize to that owner every time I see him (and he is my neighbor)!  Holy shit was I clueless.  My preparation consisted of reviewing the prior year stats, putting together a basic points prediction system (without researching existing ones) and then adjusting those results to reflect position scarcity (an important football behavior). Any guesses on who my projection said I should take first (actually the 51st pick – 10 Team 5×4 – no WHIP – 5 keepers) – Javy Lopez!!!  I felt great at the end of that draft.  I loved the team I drafted for my new next door neighbor, until the winner from the previous year came over and said, “not sure about that Javy Lopez pick?”  Suddenly I thought; shit I missed something!

Well, as it turns out, one of the owners did not show for that particular draft, so the league voted to give him 2 days to draft the rest of his team or I would get his keepers (Randy Johnson, Curt Schilling, Danny Graves, Lance Berkman, Troy Percival)….. we never heard from him and I joined the league that year and of course finished in last place, but I did draft A Pujols because he had 4HRs and 12 RBI w/ a .395 average in his first 10 games ….. I have had him every year of our MLB and ROTO careers!

These days I am a hardcore baseball fan who also likes football and other sports. I have 3 hobbies; golf, poker, and baseball – not necessarily in that order.  I am passionate.  I am a Yankees fan.  Follow me @statsr_us for commentary on the Steelers, Yankees, and Fantasy Sports.

I’m been a baseball fan since the summer of 1961, when I was 8. The only baseball you got on TV was the Yankee game of the week on Saturday with Dizzy Dean and PeeWee Reese. Instantly got hooked on the Mantle-Maris home run race and with the Yankees in general. I love the game and just can’t seem to get enough. I sent off from an ad in a comic for a free Strat O Matic card and from that figured out my own version to play with dice, as I knew better than ask my Dad to buy me the game. I read everything I can about the game of baseball and love the history. I love Bill James, especially the Historical Abstract, wish he would update it again. I don’t pretend to understand all the new metrics, guess I’m old school. We started a fantasy league in 1994 that’s still going strong. I actually won last year for the first time since 2008, I believe. Love to talk baseball with people who understand the game. Thanks for having me!

My name is Dan Patrick. not the radio personality. I am 53 years young, meaning i have been loving  sports since the day i was born. i am the oldest of 6 boys (i know my poor mother), so i had the greatest childhood because all of us boys were playing some sport every single minute of every day, and when fantasy baseball was introduces to me in 1987, that was the day my life changed.

i instantly was able to use my best skills which happened to be statistics and numbers formulations, and apply them to the game of fantasy baseball.but the most rewarding part of playing was to have the opportunity to beat the competition, which just happens to be the local owners in my league which i have been told is the OLDEST running  fantasy baseball league in the Midwest, called the “GREEN ACRES ” league here in Moline ,Illinois.

But honestly Lenny the most rewarding thing , and i mean this from the bottom of my heart, is finding you and your daily and constant words of wisdom, your amazing wealth of research and information in the game of fantasy baseball. The most exciting part of my day, other than coming home and seeing my beautiful children Lea and Nicholas, is listening to your daily podcasts whether in season or just like now in the offseason.

I would love to be able to talk to you personally because maybe you can talk some sense into my wife, who happens to be Russian, and sees no value or understanding in my love for fantasy baseball. but honestly, one of the top things on my “Bucket List” is for you and several other experts such as Tim mcCullough , Rich Wilson, and others that you speak so highly of to be able to visit the Quad-Cities here(the Iowa/Illinois area here) and have you do a Fantasy Baseball forum in our area. There is a tremendous fantasy baseball following here and my dream is to be able to have a League named after you.
    I think you deserve it..

Anyway, I know I have taken up way too much of your time but I am truly honored to have been able to have you respond to me at this time, and i hope to be able to talk or meet you personally in the future, and also to maybe be able to join the league you have been advertising on your podcasts.

    Sincerely, Dan Patrick

Been playing fantasy baseball since 94 and football 95, now commish 3 football and 2 baseball money leagues. Started listening to Chris Liss and Jeff Erickson way back when they had their 1st show, then on blogtalk, then became a fan of all the xm guys when the xm station came on. I drive a truck so I get to hear fantasy all day long, what could be better ! Thought about trying to get in the fantasy industry for yrs but can’t write or speak well enough but joined forces with a writing partner a yr ago and Razzball liked our stuff, also a couple other sites. Then realized  how hard it was to write stuff more than once a week and gave up. I would rather be the guy that answers emails or questions on the radio !!!

I play one league and one league only, 12 team keeper (H2H 6X6 OPS and Holds) with 27 man active rosters with $260 cap and yearly inflation with 8 minor leaguers.

Guilty pleasure is going to Phoenix in the spring and watching a few games. I will gladly answer any Texas BBQ questions.

Hello everyone, I am Andrew Kenyon. I live in Simi Valley in Southern California. I lived in a small town in Michigan for a few years, but mostly I have lived in California. I am a Red Sox fan even though all my friends are Dodger fans. My father grew up in Rhode Island as a Red Sox fan, so because of him I share the same passion for the team. I consider myself an amateur statistician/sabermetrician who is self taught. After I got cut from my high school team I became the team manager and statistician. It is my desire to someday work in the front office of an MLB team even if that means I am an analyst sitting in a cubicle for my entire workday. I am currently attending Moorpark Collge (it’s a community college) and I plan on transferring to San Diego State University (SDSU), where I will study Economics with Specialization in Quantitative Analysis. I am still deciding if I will do a double major, but for now I will not. My fantasy career consists of me playing in leagues with random people, but mainly just against friends, teammates, and coaches. I am currently working on my own stat to determine player value, but I am far from completion. Please be in contact if you have any questions. I also love to talk baseball, so feel free to contact me at any time.

Hello All! Ecstatic to be introducing myself on THE LEGENDS website! My name is Will Garofalo, 2015 graduate from the University of Oregon, where I received a B.S. in sports business.

I’ve been playing fantasy baseball for 12 years. My fantasy baseball path started with the standard yahoo and ESPN leagues, which turned into creating a “home” league on CBS with my dad, brother, neighbors, and family friends, to now helping run a company started by Tory Hernandez, LA Angels former Director of Baseball Operations, that is introducing The World Series of Fantasy Baseball (link below). Fantasy baseball is more than just a fantasy for me, it is a huge aspect of my life. The trading, drafting, breaking down players, scouting minor leaguers, etc. feeds my soul.

I’ve attended scouting schools, worked for The Hillsboro Hops along with other sports organizations, which all was aided by my love for fantasy baseball and baseball in general. I’m looking forward to getting to know this community and hope to see some of you in fantasy leagues for years to come.

Huge shout out to THE LEGEND and his better half (his words) Andy! Some of the best people I’ve ever met and truly awesome people! Feel free to reach out and connect with me on LinkedIn or via email (see below) or reply to this post! Thanks to all!

My name is Richard and I am the classic “Born in CT” Yankees-Giants-Celtics-Bruins(Once the Whalers left) fan, with an undying love for all four fantasy sports.  I now live in Independence, MO, just outside of KC, live about 5 miles from Kauffman and Arrowhead.  I have been playing Fantasy Sports since the early 90’s, when we would count TDs and FGs in football, HRs, W’s, and S in baseball, and do it all from the box scores.  My preferred platform is Yahoo, although I do believe ESPN is superior, just find it easier to navigate on Yahoo.  I have many championships under my belt, but am still trying to get over the hump in a 19-team Dynasty with a max-15 prospect roster, have finished 2nd for the last 4 years to the same team.  This is my true obsession.  Thanks to Lenny and the crew on SiriusXM for all of their advice over the years, even though I blame them for Eddie Lacy, Aaron Hill, and Benghazi.

I love all things baseball, especially the rich history and traditions of the game. This is a terrific site that Lenny and Andrea have put together. I can’t wait to see what it grows to become.

Hi I’m Alex Matthews. I’ve been playing fantasy baseball since 2006 when I was in high school, started on CBS, went to Yahoo, and mainly use ESPN now. I grew up an Atlanta Braves fan due to Mark Lemke growing up locally. I have his signature on my first baseball glove. I went to minor league games for the Utica Blue Sox (then Marlins affiliate) and saw the future stars Miguel Cabrera, Josh Beckett, and Adrian Gonzalez. I have been to a few ball parks, (NYY old and new, CIN, BAL, PHI, TOR, WAS). I saw Johnny Damons 6-6 game at the old Yankee Stadium, saw Chase Utley break his wrist getting hit by a pitch, watched the Big Unit start and Mo close. I lived in Charleston SC when they had the 2012 SAL all star game and passed Bill freaking Murray in one of the walkways. Currently reside in the lack of sports purgatory that is Utah. I hope to be helpful with my input. Nice to be part of the group. Thanks and best to all.

Hello from Montreal! I’ve been listening to Lenny’s podcast since 2008 I think. Every year in January I begin listening to his podcat every day. His great knowledge of baseball slowly sinks in that way. It helped me won some money in my competitive fantasy league, even a championship!

Last to years I did nor listen to his podcast for various reasons and fantasy results suffered a lot. But now, I like the format, I like that it’s iTune syndicated so it’s easy to download. I’ve listnen 3 or 4 podcasts so far and I already see the add on value to my knowledge. One thing though, guys, let Lenny do his podcast and do not distract him on the chat while he has is momentum!

Hi Everyone.  My name is Larry Avroch and I have 2 passions, Baseball and Music.  I was at the original Woodstock Concert in 1969.  One of those long-haired hippies.  Grew up in Fresh Meadows, NY like Lenny but am a few years younger. Only started in Fantasy Baseball in 2008 but won my first year and was hooked.  I combined my love for music and baseball and call my team The Moody Jews.  Big Mets and Red Sox fan.  Spent part of the summer of 1967 at Cape Cod and became hooked on the Sawx.  Sent my younger son to Boston University and he was there for their first two World Series wins in ages.  Had Mets season tickets from 1987 thru their last year at Shea.  Still have my shoebox of baseball cards from the late 50’s and early 60’s as well as the entire 1961-2 Fleer basketball set in PSA-8 condition.  I own a real estate office in Bayside, Queens if anyone ever needs help in real estate.  Now live on Long Island and enjoy being a follower and member of Lenny’s Legion.

I haven’t played fantasy baseball for a while now but I have always dominated in any league I have played. I am also looking to join a new league this season, since all my friends also stopped playing fantasy.

Bring on the new baseball season! I’m Scotty Bryden, 49-years-young, and the President of 2 new car dealerships, Bryden Ford http://www.BrydenFord.com and Bryden Motors http://www.BrydenMotors.com. I took 1 victory and 3 seconds in my four leagues in 2014, including finishing 65th of 1248 in the 2014 NFBC Online Challenge! Needless to say, I won my NFBC league that year and took second with my other NFBC team, as well as taking 2nd in my Masters league and my Yahoo home league. Fantasy baseball proved to be my distraction from my dad’s passing in 2014 and I did so well, I thought I was bound for fantasy greatness after profiting $3000!

Then came 2015. I spent almost all of my time away work on fantasy baseball. It caused me to miss time with my 19-year-old son and pretty much anything planned on Sunday. Several times I wanted to go jet skiing, but I kept searching for the ultimate pickups for the week. Damn! In late August, one of my Office Manager’s left and it thrust me back into my business at an 80-hour/week clip. Something had to give and it was fantasy baseball. I don’t regret backing off fantasy baseball, because it was consuming my life.  I have an addictive personality and a strong desire to win. Those traits are good for business, but are bad for having a balanced life. 🙁

My life is kind of back, but I’m still working 70 hours per week between the two dealerships. My son, Daytona Bryden, is the starting CF and lead off hitter for the D3 Powerhouse University of Wisconsin – Whitewater Warhawks. There is no place on Earth I’d rather be than at the ballpark watching and recording his games. If you’d like to see some impressive catches, stolen bases, bunts for hits, and YES, a Home Run, visit http://www.YouTube.com/DaytonaBryden.

All of that being said, I’m an avid Red Sox fan and would like to be a Red Sox correspondent for http://www.LennyMelnickFantasySports.com. I listen to many WEEI baseball podcasts and feel like I really get an insight into what’s going on with the Red Sox and their players.

Lenny has an incredible number of friends, but I feel like Lenny and I “get” each other. It’s pretty cool how that works with certain people. I don’t know if it’s like father and son, because I really just feel like we’re the same age when we see each other, chat, or talk on the phone. I just really want the best for Lenny he wants the best for me. AND, we have this passion for baseball and business, too, so there’s no limit to the conversations. We don’t talk often, but when we do, it’s always good. If you don’t know Lenny personally, take my word for this… When he cares about someone they know it.

Thank you all for being a part of this community.  Lenny puts his heart and soul into this site and his podcasts. We are his redemption and his inspiration to keep giving us this great information. (Remember Andrea, too. Lenny loves her dearly, she has strong opinions, she knows fantasy sports, and she keeps this site up and running.) 🙂 Bring on baseball! Play ball!

Long time listener, long time “Legend” believer, even longer fan of the greatest game on earth! My pops turned me on the baseball when I was 9 years old.. We were moving into a new house, and pops had the radio on in the living room. Koufax on the bump, bottom 9, and dad says to me: “son, put that box down, sit over here, and listen…”  Another complete game shutout!  That was “game over” for me, and have been a fan since..

Follow all teams, except those whose front offices appear to be counting their revenue vs paying attention to the game, and their mediocre team. Family is from Pitt, so my blood flows Pirates! Grew up in LA, and well, you can’t convince me that money can win you a title! Go go Buccos, Stroes, and all clubs serious about putting a true team on the field, and building a dynasty!

Love ya Lenny!!! Keep throwing those strikes… and let’s all remember in life… the baseball, it’s an egg!  Have fun everyone, and PLAY BALL!

Koufax got me hooked also. I got my long departed & sorely missed dad to be a Dodger fan soon after & we would listen to Vinny together most evenings. I still remember how upset he would get when Scully would say “Perranosky is warming up in the pen”. He was just sure Ron was going to blow the lead. I make sure to start each baseball season with the U-Tube of Scully calling the 9th inning of Sandy’s perfect game on radio. I gets no better than that. I recommend it you all.

    Hi Everyone!

I’ve been a White Sox fan since the red pinstripe days of Bill Melton, Wilbur Wood and Carlos May (who, by the way, is the answer to a trivia question… Who was the only MLB player to wear his birthday on his uniform? A: Carlos May, who had “May 17” on the back!).

I’ve played baseball- and stats-related games since I was a kid – starting with Cadaco All Star Baseball. (Does anyone else remember the name Brant Alyea? Check out his 1970 season!)

From there, we played some Strat-O and then, in the 80’s, started an NL-only league that still runs today.

That was back in the day of doing the stats by hand. When we started, I actually had the brilliant (?!) idea to pay out 1st half and 2nd half winners. So, in the 2nd part of the summer, I actually took each player’s stats (to whatever day it was) and subtract out their first half numbers! What was I thinking??

Anyway, as I mentioned, I’ve been a fan of Lenny since the days with Rich and Tony. I’ve etched so many players’ names in my kitchen table my wife says we need a new table! Keep up the great work, Lenny, and I look forward to every day’s show!

I am currently a special education teacher who works in Brooklyn New York and live in North Bellmore, New York. I am a life-long sports fan and I’m glad to be part of Mr. Melnick’s Fantasy Sports Site. I’ve played fantasy baseball since 1995 and have won multiple championships mostly playing in a 10 or 12 team NL Only league. I tune into Sirius/XM channel 87 when I’m commuting to and from work and always listen to Lenny’s podcast as I construct my lesson planning each day.

Larry Bird was a God to me. Now Big Papi And Tom Brady are my 2 sports idols. I am have been playing fantasy baseball since middle school (me and my buddy used to do the stats by hand from the once a week detailed stats in the USA Today) and now have shifted to DFS. Hi All!! Name is Adam or “Monty” as my friends call me. Love me some Fantasy Sports!! Baseball and Football in particular, but I am trying to broaden my  knowledge and try my hand in Fantasy Golf. Been playing Fantasy for about 10 yrs. Started on the daily fantasy scene 2 yrs ago and its also a lot of fun. Im really hoping the GOV doesn’t mess with Daily Fantasy sports. Time will tell. My wife thinks im nuts having 8-10 teams per season but  think its a blast!! I hope my son plays fantasy sports when he gets older.

I remember listening to Lenny on my drive to work when he had his slots on RotoExperts on Sirusxm radio. Always very knowledgeable.

Mariners Baseball drives my entire yr. I like the direction the organization is going. I just hope they start to turn around, AL West will be very competitive this yr. Id love to get stationed out there in the future but who knows whats on the agenda.

I really look forward to gaining knowledge and giving knowledge on this forum. Its always a great place when you can ask a question on a thread and hear back from numerous people on how you should go about your business. Good luck  to all in their future endeavors!!

Hi Lenny and the Legion! I’m Tom, originally from East Meadow, Long Island. I’ve been playing fantasy baseball for 10 years with now former coworkers.  I have two boys – one 3, the other is 1 month old, so it makes it challenging to be as involved as some of the other folks on the site, but know that I’m always listening to Lenny on my bus ride and on Sirius when I can.
I actually now reside in Minneapolis, as my job moved me out here last June. (Guess I’ll be jumping on the Twins bandwagon, but will never abandon the Yanks). I had been working in lower Manhattan and living in Bay Ridge until the move. I miss home and the characters of NY. Aside from your knowledge and advice Lenny, I love listening to you as you remind me of family members from home (very similar to my “nutty uncle” from Massapequa!)

Anyway, looking for forward to a great season!

    Thanks for letting me join.

In addition to baseball, I have a wonderful wife and 3 year old and i’m a very competitive bowler in my spare time.

Hi everyone!  I’ve been playing in the Fantasy League of American Baseball (FLAB) since 1992.  It’s a 10 team NL auction format that was established in 1989 and has kept 7 of the original members who are from Milwaukee and the Chicago area.  From 2001 – 2010 I won the championship 4 times but have been struggling since.  So I need lots of help.

I found this site after listening to Lenny Melnicks very informative and entertaining podcast.

I’m John Ceperich and have lived in cities throughout Indiana most of my life.  A couple of years ago I was listening to Sirius Fantasy Sports and Lenny gave his picks for daily baseball.  I played them and went from someone who’s usually 51/100 to 5/100 in a 50/50!  I didn’t hear his name though.  Several months later, found out his name was Lenny… this week, that it is Lenny Melnick.  I am in the ready to pick the legend’s brain just in time for fbb!

A Purdue grad and walk on grid ironer the early 90s found me deep into the Football Card Trade Agreement after a coworker convinced me that the cards I had as a kid were valuable (were, $50) and that either Bledsoe or Faulk were going to become famous (Faulk, yes).  It was also great to collect cards of athletes I had competed with or met over the years,  like Kenny Loften,  Robin Earl, Rowdie Gaines, Fred Strickland, Scott Conover, Rudy, Calvin Williams, Mike Peluso, and Brett Favre who I’m close friends with his 5th string cousin.

Two years ago my roommate asked that i join his fantasy football league.  I spent almost all the season creeping in on a playoff spot and then in the end got body slammed into 8th place.  The next year about the same in his league thanks to injuries BUTT I won the league that I hosted beating roomie in the championship.  Both years I’ve been playing Odell Beckham has been the key figure in my FF crunch time.

I tried FBB last year after decades of not following the sport.  The only league that I joined that started prior to MLB starting found me fighting tooth and nail to get 6th place, in the ESPN league.   Looking forward to doing FBB this year now knowing something about the game.  I did win 2 late leagues.  Tried hockey, know nothing about it, just listened to some experts and look like I will be cruising into the playoffs in my free ESPN league.

Looking forward to meeting the Legend and my fellow Legioners!

Hi. On the original site I was “Dusty_Buppins” and before that, “Dave in Guadalajara.” My team has been Canexicans throughout so I’m sticking with it. I began fantasy baseball at 300 Baud and hogging the phone-line for hours. I discovered Mike and Cory then found the Mike Kutchera podcast and felt I’d struck the motherlode. Around then, I think, Lenny re-emerged and I was hooked. A pioneer in the industry and he seemed to know exactly the info I needed to know. His “How to” podcast for an auction is still probably the best fantasy podcast ever. Now though, I’m down to just 2 leagues, a dynasty league on CBS and the 411 Listener League where I try to compete with Cory Schwartz, Zach Steinhorn and other grizzled 411 listeners. Both are 12 team 5 x 5 Mixed Roto. I am a Jays fan above all.

Hello, this is Dave Troup from Cincinnati.  Thank you to David Leisure for the invitation. I’m 58 years old and have been a huge fan of baseball (followed ever so closely by college and pro basketball) since age 6.  Grew up in Rochester, NY a devoted fan of the  LA Dodgers, in particular my hero Sandy Koufax.  Moved to Cincinnati with family in 1974 and it took until 1982, the year of the Reds’ 101 loss season, for my allegiance to switch to the Reds.  In retrospect, pretty poor timing!  In the winter of 1987 I discovered the Rotisserie League Baseball Handbook while browsing through a local bookstore.  The book itself was very entertaining and appealed greatly to my love of the game.  I somehow convinced 9 of my co-workers to abandon their Sunday plans the spring of that same year and we (minus two no-shows) held our first auction draft.  The Hamco 10 has survived to this day and evolved from the age of no computers (had to do stats bi-weekly by hand the first few years) to now, where information is constant.  There are truly no secrets anymore.  I fondly remember the days of scouring Bill Mazeroski’s annual preview magazine and looking for his “Gold Coin” prospects. We are  a National League only, 12 team 4 X 4  Keeper Rotisserie League, just as the founding fathers intended the game to be played.  Our league “constitution” has evolved to where we now can draft minor league players in the auction portion of the draft; we also have a 12 round reserve draft.  The experience has been a lot of fun and has led to new friendships, involvement of family members (both my late father, a legend for his witty asides) and my wife (dragged against her will in a couple of emergency situations) have served as auctioneers/my stepsons both now participate (I really must be getting old!).  Thank you Lenny for this forum/site!

Salutations To All…Mike C. here (Michael Chagdes)…owned a business in Chicago for several decades…did rather well and semi-retired to Lake Geneva, WI with my then-wife and let my sons run the day-2-day operations…it was awesome living in a beautiful resort town…that is, until my wife of 38 years went on a 15 day spiritual journey to Peru with 43 other women and when she returned informed me a couple of days later that she “no longer wished to be married !”…cliff notes version…I had to go back to Chicago and work full time because my spousal maintenance was (is) $6k per month !…financially ruined, I went from a life of luxury in Lake Geneva to a second floor apartment without air conditioning and competing with non-English speaking co-tenants for laundry facilities…quite humbling !…eventually I dabbled on some online dating sites and discovered that despite being  bald, overweight and never mistaken for Richard Gere in the looks department that women started coming after me as if I was George Clooney !…obviously in my demographic there must be a severe shortage of available men (I was 62 then)…after interacting with dozens in varying degrees I hit it off with a lady in Ohio…one thing lead to another and I started to visit her every weekend (250 miles from Chicago to Toledo)…we decided to get married (third for both of us) and this coming Friday will be 2 years for us…it’s been wonderful…anyhow, that’s how a guy like me ended up in Toledo, OH…I’m still a Cubs season ticket holder (sold the business to my sons, but I still pay for the tickets)…I actively root AGAINST every Chicago sports team except the Cubs…I listen to XM87 about 10 hours each day and I have always enjoyed Lenny the most…love his sense of humor and he isn’t afraid to make seemingly outrageous predictions and he’s often correct with those. I’m still in the incipient stages of DFS…I was really pissed when I had 231 points one night last week and only played $5 to net a nifty $4 profit…obviously I have a lot to learn and I will look forward to reading the words of wisdom from you more accomplished players in the weeks ahead…thanks for reading this…hope you all have a fantastic summer !

    Hi,

I am an avid (fake baseball) player as my wife likes to call it. Enjoy football and basketball as well. I usually finish towards the tops of my leagues, not that they are always competitive. I spend too much time on fantasy sports. Have not yet dipped into daily but am seriously considering it. In 2 baseball leagues (1 keeper), in 3 football leagues (1 keeper) and 1`keeper basketball league. Looking forward to getting insight and sharing insight on this page.

I am the host of the podcast Inside MLB that airs every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday fro 5:30-6:30 PM. I am an extremely avid baseball and Pirates fan and I play baseball as well. In fantasy baseball I usually finish in the middle of the pack, but they’re not that competitive. I spend a ton of time researching and developing ideas for Inside MLB, so it would be much appreciated if you tune in. Thank you for (hopefully) listening, and :Let’s Go Bucs! You can find my website at  Inside MLB Website

My name is Michael Eccleston! I’m 24 years old and I’m from Northern New Jersey. I’ve been in fantasy baseball leagues on and off for about 10 years. I’m a recent graduate from East Stroudsburg University and had a radio show called NY vs PHI for two years. I was an intern for ESPN Radio in the Lehigh Valley and I have a sports blog that I’ve been working on for a few years called New York Sports Today. I’m a life long Mets fan. Happy to be here!

    Hello Everyone!

Dan Metzinger here from Youngstown, Ohio. Baseball has brought my family together for as long as I can remember. We are a mixed family of Pirate and Indians fans, which keeps it interesting. The beauty of fantasy sports is that it has brought us even closer together. The Pirates are my passion and I enjoy taking in the Mahoning Valley Scrappers (Short Season A New York Penn League affiliated with the Cleveland Indians) games locally. The likes of CC Sabathia, Victor Martinez, Jason Kipnis, Asdrubal Cabrera among others have passed through here. Great baseball is never hard to come by being an hour away from Cleveland and Pittsburgh and having the Scrappers in the backyard. I look forward to getting involved here on the site and a sincere THANK YOU to Mr. Lenny Melnick for bringing the passion and heart to baseball everyday.
