RB
Branden Oliver – Chargers– suffered an Achilles tendon injury
T.J. Yeldon – Jaguars- fumbled on the opening possession and the left side of Jacksonville’s revamped offensive line was mostly manhandled.
Yeldon technically got the start, but as has been the case all preseason, both running backs had key roles with the first-team offense.
Melvin Gordon has proved that his surgically-repaired knee is no longer a major concern, leaving him as the unquestioned lead rusher in a Chargers offense that should be much-improved.
QB
Teddy Bridgewater -Vikings– was sharp in his return from a sore arm
It was Brock Osweiler‘s second successful outing after he and the Texans starting offense struggled in the team’s first preseason game.
WR
Alex Erickson -Bengals– stated his case to make the team by scoring for the third straight game, catching a 21-yard TD pass from A.J. McCarron early in the third quarter.
Brandon Tate -Bengals- is in danger of losing his job to undrafted rookie Alex Erickson
A.J. Green -Bengals- left in the first quarter with a bruised right knee, but said he’s fine.
Will Fuller-Texans– has seven catches for 140 yards and two touchdowns on 12 targets over the past two preseason games, and it appears the Texans are willing to live with the drop issues that plagued him at Notre Dame
Charles Johnson – Vikings– is a clear favorite to enter Week 1 as a starter, but he failed to impress in the same role last season, and Laquon Treadwell may not need long to push for a bigger role.
