A lucky Red Sox fan got to throw the first pitch last night at Fenway Park, the cameraman wasn’t so lucky
Safe to say @TonyCapobianco hit it out of the park w/ his reaction. Wonder who will call him first? @JKCorden @jimmyfallon @jimmykimmel pic.twitter.com/qPzZ3Sn2uv

The Diamondbacks
- have lost eight of their last 11
- struck out 17 times on Tuesday, and yesterday was the 10th game they have struck out 13 or more times
Player Watch
- Joe Girardi used David Robertson to get the save last night
- Lou and I discussed Rajai Davis on our Nuthin But Fantasy podcast Monday, it doesn’t matter that the guy only plays against left-handed starting pitchers, because he is going to steal three bags a week. Three bags a week is Fantasy Baseball gold right now.
- Luis Valbuena is a good grab for now because the Angels are facing a whole slew of right-handed pitching.
- Cam Bedrosian got his fifth save. He is still a weenie.
- Trevor Rosenthal will have his arm checked after leaving the mound with ‘tightness’ and a 5 mph drop in velocity.
- Might want to grab Seung Hwan Oh
- Gregory Infante could earn some saves going forward. His competition for the White Sox closer role, Aaron Bummer and Jake Petricka, combined to allow four hits and three runs last night.
- Jon Gray should be picked up regardless of the fact that he pitches in Colorado.
- Has a 3.72 ERA and 35:8 K:BB over his last six starts, 36.1 innings
- Nomar Mazara has 20 RBI in the past 18 games
- Pablo Sandoval wrote an article for the Player Tribune about how happy he is to return to the club that signed him when he was 16 and apologized to Giants fans for the things he said when he left to Boston. He left his heart in San Francisco.
- Homer Bailey allowed six runs on seven hits and five walks while striking out 10 batters through 5.2 innings
- He is a mixture of crappy starts and good starts and there doesn’t seem to be any clear split in his stats. Two of his best starts this season came at Coors Field and Chase Stadium while his worst were at home. Go Figure
- Mike Foltynewicz earned eight runs on 11 hits in 3 ⅓ innings
- is 1-3 with an 11.02 ERA in his past four starts.
- Matt Adams is about to lose serious playing time as Matt Kemp is expected back Saturday
- John Lackey has a 3.31 ERA, a 1.29 WHIP and 16 strikeouts in 16 innings over his last six. The Cubs have not lost one of his starts since June
Injury Updates
- Alex Cobb will return from the disabled list as long as he continues to feel good for the next 24 hours after throwing 40 pitches in a bullpen session yesterday
- Wilmer Flores and Jose Reyes are taking a trip to the team doctors with sore rib cages Neither were available to play last night and Terry Collins literally moved Asdrubal Cabrera and Travis d’Arnaud between 2nd and 3rd base 22 times.
I wanted to make a diving play down the line or rob someone of a base hit, like people do to me. d'Arnaud, on playing third base
I can’t stop looking at this. pic.twitter.com/xFJt951qUB

Here is Lenny Dykstra talking shit about Terry Collins. Like Dykstra should be talking shit about anyone, right?

- Glen Perkins was activated from the disabled list after finally recovering from labrum surgery in April 2016

- David Price is the gift that just keeps giving to Boston fans since they signed him, right?
-
- His rehab is on hold now and it doesn’t even matter why at this point does it?
David Price’s rehab put on pause, Red Sox could adjust rotation https://t.co/h7OSR6d1Gs

- Jayson Werth ran the bases yesterday. He is expected back and the Nationals are going to give his starting centerfield job back. When Bryce Harper comes back, Werth is going to stay in the lineup. He is Fantasy Baseball relevant as long as he is healthy
There aren’t many organizations that have twelve outfielders that they can really rely on and count on…
Dusty said he thought Madson had a blister but it’s actually a problem with a finger on his throwing hand. “We’re analyzing it now.”

- Taijuan Walker is the perfect example of what happens when a good pitcher only throws 100 plus innings a season. When he finally gets healthy, he isn’t healthy because he is exhausted in August.
- James Paxton is another textbook example. Injured but he says he is “real close to getting on the throwing program.’
