Alex Wood was placed on the disabled list for one start according to Dave Roberts

David Price returns to the mound today, even after his last rehab outing looked pretty dismal according to the stats. Here is John Farrell on why:
Brandon McCarthy has been diagnosed with patellar tendonitis in his knee but he isn’t expected to miss any starts over it, but don’t expect any complete games out of him or anything.
It has good days, it has bad days. The start before (Saturday) I didn’t feel it once. It’s been there all year.McCarthy on injured knee
Jameson Taillon pitched three scoreless innings and struck out six in first rehab start.
There is no fracture in Mike Trout’s thumb, according to initial x-rays, but he will have an MRI today that should tell us the extent of his injury. I would bench him this week though.
Steven Matz threw 73 pitches over five perfect innings at Triple-A Las Vegas yesterday and struck out eight. They say it could be his final rehab before returning to the Mets rotation.
Jon Gray threw a bullpen session at Coors Field yesterday as he is working his way back from a left foot injury.
He will throw a couple more bullpens. But most of the work he needs is in the weight room. It’s just a matter of getting Jon in baseball shape. He has to get his legs underneath him.
It’s going well but I’m not running or jumping, or jogging yet. I still have (the boot just in case I need it,but I don’t want to see it again. It feels a bit better know but I had to be very very careful (when throwing with the boot on.)Gray on his Recovery

Braves have four starting pitchers with an ERA of 4.44 higher.
The Orioles have lost seven straight for the first time since 2011. The have lost 13 of the last 16 and 11 of 13 on the road. They started the season great, but don’t they always?
The Indians have not lost four in a row since 2015, but it has happened 284 times, including at least once to every other team in the majors since then.
The Rockies have won their last eight series, with a record of 19-8. Through 52 games, The Rockies .635 winning percentage is the best in baseball and the best in franchise history.
The Tigers struck out 49 times over four games against the White Sox, the most for any four-game series in team history since 1913. They are four games under .500 and 2-6 on their current road trip. Off to Kansas City…
The Dodgers bullpen is very good right now, going four straight games without an earned run. In 15 ⅔ innings they allowed only three hits, struck out 12 and walked three. Clayton Kershaw was the only Dodgers pitcher to give up a run the entire series against the Cubbies.
Oakland leads the league in errors and unearned runs by a large margin
Cody Bellinger made it to ten home runs faster than any other Dodger, ever. Took him 31 games.
Michael Pineda has given up three earned runs or less in nine straight starts. He has already matched his total wins from last season. He feels confident in throwing his changeup anytime he needs it. The Yankees are 8-2 with Pineda on the mound
.
Joey Gallo may have a horrid batting average, but he sits right behind Aaron Judge and Mike Trout with 15 home runs on the season.
With seven runs in four-plus innings, Patrick Corbin has given up 12 runs in the first inning over 11 starts this season.
- May: 26 ER, 8 HR, 26 IP
- April: 2.29 ERA, 6 GS
- At Home: 1-4, 8.40 ERA, .951 OPS against, 6 starts
- On the Road: 2-0, .71 ERA, .514 OPS against
Joe Maddon isn’t ‘ready’ to give up on Ian Happ even though he is 2 for his last 21 and struck out four times last night. This must be the same as not giving up on Kyle Schwarber as the leadoff batter. That worked out well. The question is when, not if they will give up on Happ. Not this week i guess.
Jordan Zimmermann has allowed 16 home runs in 55 innings so far this season. Last year he allowed 14 home runs in 105 innings. He isn’t even ownable in AL only leagues.
Lance McCullers took care of the haters this month, going 3-0 with a .99 ERA over 36 innings in May. He has been criticized for throwing too many breaking pitches as they thought it might hinder his ability to go deep into games.
People who are quick to say that are just people that are close-minded and are not adjusting with the way the game’s going. For people who want to be like, ‘He throws too many,’ or, ‘He can’t throw enough strikes,’ they don’t spend time watching.McCullers on Haters
Alex Bregman was benched yesterday to make room for Marwin Gonzalez in the lineup. Gonzalez leads the team with 30 RBI and leads the American League with a .381 batting average.
The blister on Johnny Cueto’s middle finger might account for his 0-3 record and 4.33 ERA over his last four outings prior to yesterday. Last night he struck out six of the first nine batters he faced, including five-consecutive strikeouts and eight on the night.
Andrew Knapp is batting .306 (11 for 36) with three home runs and a 1.016 OPS over the last 12 games. He is batting .264 (14 for 53) with three home runs, seven RBIs and an .880 OPS on the season.
Pete Mackanin will stick with Odubel Herrera, but he said he might drop him down in the batting order. Brilliant idea dude. I am dropping him from my Fantasy Team altogether. Sad, but true.
Aaron Altherr is hitting .333 over the last seven games and has tied Tommy Joseph for the most home runs on the team, eight.
