It’s Ronald Acuna Day!!!
Those who own him paid dearly for him, so cheers to Acuna owners everywhere, this is where it all begins!
Other Prospects in the News
- Tyler Mahle allowed three runs on three hits, walked two and struck out 11 over six innings. He didn’t even allow a hit until the seventh inning.
- Mac Williamson has three homers and six RBI in five games since he was called up from Triple-A Sacramento, where hit six home runs in eleven games. That is 9 homers in just 16 games. Multiply that by a full season and …nevermind.
- Walker Buehler was optioned back to Triple-A to make room for another reliever, but it shouldn’t be long before he is recalled.
- Jack Flaherty will be recalled from Triple-A Memphis and start Saturday’s game against the Pirates
Jack Flaherty will start Saturday.

- Mike Soroka (ATL-SP) threw his first shutout on Monday at Triple-A Gwinnett. He struck out four, walked three and allowed four hits through seven innings. He now has a 1.99 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, 24 strikeouts and only five walks in 22 ⅔ innings. Expect a call up soon.
- Willy Adames hit for the cycle while going 4-for-5 at Triple-A Durham on Monday. Sunday he hit his first career grand slam and currently has gotten on base in each of the last ten games.
Players
- Yoenis Cespedes is hitting so bad it leads me to believe he could be secretly playing baseball injured. He has more strikeouts in the month of April than any other player. More than Miguel Sano? Yes. More than Joey Gallo? Yep. He is batting .175 with a .214 OBP. Not even golf is going to help this.
- Joey Votto hit his first home run this season and Scooter Gennett hit his first two.
- Matt Harvey is being dropped more than Taijuan Walker, who will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery.
Injury Updates
- Eric Thames will get an MRI on his left thumb after he injured it diving to make a catch last night. There is concern he may have ligament damage.
#Brewers have concerns about Eric Thames’ left thumb. Jammed it into ground on diving play in eighth. Exited game in ninth. Will have MRI tomorrow to check for ligament damage.
