Wilson Ramos isn’t expected to play baseball until July, so he won’t be of any use to Fantasy owners until August. That is best case scenario and that does not justify spending even one dollar on Ramos at the draft.
I have seen him drafted in every single mock or regular season drafts so far. I know it is early but i do not see the trend changing. Ramos suffered a nasty torn ACL late September. A Catcher with a Knee injury is never good and as much as we want Ramos to be the guy we fell in love with, lets rejoice in our magnificent clarity.
Watch the injury and if there were any doubts, Gone
Sandy Leon and Christian Vazquez are both out of options, while Blake Swihart is not. The Red Sox won’t want to expose either to waivers at the end of camp, which seemingly signals a trip to Triple-A Pawtucket to open the season for Swihart
Rickie Weeks will get at bats against left-handed pitching according to manager Kevin Cash,.
James McCann simplified his approach at the plate in an effort to cut down on strikeouts after he struck out almost 30% of the time last season,
Tucker Barnhart and Devin Mesoraco will share Catching duties. No big news there. Manager Bryan Price says he expects Mesoraco to play about half the time, which is good news for Barnhart.
Remember when Bryan Price said the F-Word 77 times at the media? It was after they made it public knowledge that Mesoraco would not be in the lineup as he flew home to deal with a family matter..Here, it is great:
Don Mattingly says that Justin Bour will see regular at bats at first base. If he shows that he can hit left-handed pitching, he could see a full season of at bats.
The Marlins may have given up on acquiring someone to platoon at first base with Bour.
J.T. Realmuto will play some first base this year which means he actually has a shot at a full season of plate appearances

Kevin Kiermaier confirmed in a recent radio interview that he’s being considered for a move to the leadoff spot in 2017,
He also points out that he has gotten much better at waiting to swing at pitches inside the zone, He made contact 80.0 percent of the time and walked 9.9 percent.
Zack Wheeler will enter camp as a starter, but manager Terry Collins isn’t sure how many innings Wheeler can log this season
Robert Gsellman will likely enter the season as the fifth starter in the Mets roatation
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovello insists that Greinke is not nursing any injuries heading into camp, but he will still take things slow.
Houston Street, Cam Bedrosian and Andrew Bailey all have a chance to win the Angels closer job.
- Street will probably begin the season as the closer because of his experience
- Bedrosian, had his best season before getting injured last year.
- Bailey is the longshot in the group.
Giants bullpen blew a franchise-record 30 saves, including nine in September.
Travis Wood in 2016:
- BABIP .215
- 37.4% ground ball rate
Those numbers pretty much say that Wood was extremely lucky keeping runners off the basepaths, but overall, an average pitcher.
