2018 NFL Standings Predictions:
NFC EAST
This division seems to have so much trouble going into the 2018 season. The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to repeat another trip to the Super Bowl this season. But, they’re already hurting at their key positions going into Week 1. With their starting QB, Carson Wentz, still recovering from ACL surgery they will have Nick Foles start the beginning of the season. Dallas has had trouble the preseason with its offensive line, receiving core, and defense. Their offensive line has too many injuries with its key players.
- New York Giants
- Philadelphia
- Washington Redskins
- Dallas Cowboys
NFC North
The NFC North has some good teams this season. The Chicago Bears just got better with the recent trade of Khalil Mack and rookie Roquan Smith. Minnesota is another contender this season, coming off of a heartbreaking playoff loss. Green Bay, while most favor, I think they’re having trouble internally within the organization. With the recent talk of the Packers offering Randall Cobb up for trade, they’re still waiting to hear if there is any interest. I just don’t see the team connecting together this season for Mike McCarthy and I believe he’s lost the players this season. I think it might be time for the Packers to look at a new Head Coach.
- Chicago Bears
- Minnesota Vikings
- Detroit Lions
- Green Bay Packers
*This is the first year in over 10 years that I thought the Bears have a chance for the playoffs.
NFC South
While there is much competition in the division this season. I think it just comes down to Atlanta and New Orleans looking for an extended playoff run. Drew Brees only has so many more years left, before he retires. With the Saints just missing out last season in the playoffs, they’ll be looking for a repeat run all the way to the Super Bowl. Up North from them, the Atlanta Falcons are looking to actually win the Super Bowl this season unlike two seasons ago. Steve Sarkisian is in his second season as the Falcons Offensive Coordinator. I think we’ll see a lot of changes this season in plays. Especially, with the addition of Calvin Ridley.
- Atlanta Falcons
- New Orleans Saints
- Carolina Panthers
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Dirk Koetter might be the first coach to be let go this season. It will be interesting to see if he isolates James Winston in games when he returns from his suspension.
NFC West
This division has seen the leaders/losers flip in the standings over the last season. This season I would expect much of the same. I believe the LA Rams have the best all-around team in the division this season. I also think former powerhouse Seattle Seahawks are the team in the cellar this season. With so much trouble in the defense and on the offensive line, Seattle isn’t looking too good coming into the 2018 season. I do like their pickup of kicker Sebastian Janikowski this offseason. He can be the surprise star in their offense this season. While a kicker won’t win every game without a good defense. I think it’s important to keep in mind that he can help keep it close in some games this year.
- LA Rams
- SF 49ers
- Arizona Cardinals
- Seattle Seahawks
*Keep in eye on how Janikowski is kicking this season. In games with close spreads, be sure to tread lightly if he’s doing well.
AFC East
Will we be looking at another total domination by the New England Patriots? I believe we will again look for the Patriots to take apart this conference. While Miami may show progress with a healthy Ryan Tannehill, they just don’t have enough to compete against NE.
- New England Patriots
- Miami Dolphins
- New York Jets
- Buffalo Bills
*I’d look to pick up Chris Ivory in leagues that you could use an RB. If LeSean McCoy gets suspended by the NFL, or even injured, Ivory would be a nice fill in on bye weeks for your roster. Ivory did look good in the preseason game he saw the majority of snaps in August.
AFC North
Will this conference look like the 2017 NFC West Conference in 2018? It’s very possible that Cleveland could come out and win this conference, or finish 2nd to Baltimore. All I know is that this conference is up from grabs and should make for an exciting season for its fans.
- Cleveland Browns
- Baltimore Ravens
- Pittsburgh Steelers
- Cincinnati Bengals
AFC South
This could be the division that we see two playoff contenders come from this year. Jacksonville seems to be the team to beat in this conference. With their stout defense, they are able to shore it up on offense with a deep WR corp and very good running game. Tennessee may have a chance this year if Marcus Mariota can produce like the QB he was drafted to become a few seasons ago. Look for Corey Davis and recent signing Dion Lewis to contribute this season.
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- Tennesse Titans
- Houston Texans
- Indianapolis Colts
AFC West
At one time this conference was the toughest conference in the NFL. In just a few short years, the conference has changed and fans wonder if it can go back to the way it was. While I do see Denver winning this conference, I don’t see them advancing far in the playoffs. It’s also possible that the Charges will contend as conference champions this season. In fact, that’s where I’m going this season.
- LA Chargers
- Denver Broncos
- KC Chiefs
- Oakland Raiders
*I’m afraid to see what Oakland will look like this season. The average age is 30yrs of age on the roster, and it’s possible that half the roster won’t make it through 2018.

Super Bowl LIII
While Atlanta would love to make it to the SB this season, especially since it’s in Atlanta. I think we’re looking at a defensive and running powerhouse competition in the big game.
