Sports No-Ledge Week 4

Dare I say a Raider QB is a must start?  Why yes. Yes I do.  Derek Carr has got Da Stinkin Bears this week.  Just in his second season in NFL, Carr has proven to have the skill set  and with Crabtree & Cooper out wide, he has targets on each side of the field.  Unless you own Aaron Rodgers, you start Carr.  Yes, due to injury concerns, I would start Carr ahead of Brees & Luck, even if they play.  That is how good of a play he is.

At running back, I am going to refer you all to a simple known fact.  The 49ers play well at home no matter their record or talent level.  Thus, find a way to get Carlos Hyde in your lineups.  The 49ers are a 9 point underdog w/ the Packers coming in and some would say when a team is so far behind, you avoid the RB.  Did you see what Jamaal Charles did in the 4th quarter on MNF this week? Look for Hyde to do the same as Green Bay’s defense is coming off a short week and a cross country trip and if an Francisco wants to win this week, they will try to take air out of the ball and run with Hyde controlling time of possession to keep Rodgers off the field as much as possible.

For your WR position, there are so many options that you really can’t miss unless you are a Mike Evans owner from Week 2 and his bagel costs you to lose a game by 3 points.  I digress.

I will feature Jordan Matthews here.  Expect the Redskins vs Eagles game to be a shootout.  When you have shootouts you want the #1 WR in that particular game, and Bradford’s 1st read every time is Matthews.  Look for an Alshon Jeffrey performance from past years where Matthews catches double digits passes and may crack 200 yard mark with 2 or more TDs.

That is it for this week.  As always, I appreciate feedback and dialogue, so please feel free to leave comments.
