Matt Harvey allowed another three homers over four innings last night. He is suffering from a tired arm. Who knows what the Mets will do with him

Carlos Gonzalez is benched.

This is a tough one, CarGo’s not going to start today and he’s not going to start tomorrow. After that, we’ll see. But it’s tough, because you want him in there because you know what he can do. He cares so much, but he’s struggling … and right now his numbers aren’t good, adding that Gonzalez has been expanding his strike zone. That’s part of what happens in your desire to get hits, and the only way to get hits is to swing the bat. That’s the hard thing. You want to get hits to get out of it, but then you end up being overly aggressive. But CarGo’s going to come out of it. Bud Black

Corey Kluber reached 1000 strikeouts faster than any pitcher in Cleveland Indian history.

Derek Fisher is the first player to get the first two hits of his career in the same inning since 2004.

After just one earned run over the first 31 ⅔ innings to start the season, Andrew Miller added another five earned runs over the past two days.

Chase Headley is making his case to keep his job with Gleyber Torres at Triple-A breathing down his neck.

Fernando Rodney had 14 earned runs over ten innings to start the season. Since then he has pitched 14 ⅔ innings without an earned run. He has not allowed even a hit in his last five appearances.

Julio Teheran is 5-0 with a 2.89 ERA over seven road starts this season. You don’t even want to know how he pitches at home though.

Injury Updates

Neil Walker fell down about halfway to first base, and by the look of it I expect a torn achilles. That means out for the rest of the season. Stay Tuned. Will the Mets now please consider calling up Amed Rosario so the fans feel somewhat pleased.

In order to keep Sean Newcomb in the majors, the Braves are considering going with a six man rotation when Bartolo Colon returns from the disabled list. Newcomb is scheduled to start this Friday in the meantime.

I might just pitch six for a while, a time or two around (through the rotation)That’s definitely an option.Brian Snitker

Ben Zobrist could land on the disabled list because of left wrist soreness that he has been dealing with since May 26. He will get an MRI and then re-evaluated before Friday’s game.

Cesar Hernandez is out for six weeks. Ouch. One of their prospects, Scott Kingery, has the most home runs in the minors so far, 18. But he is still at Double-A and not even currently on the 40-man roster

Tom Murphy could make his 2017 debut with the Rockies as early as today. Ryan Hanigan has no options left so it is unclear what the Rockies will do with him when Murphy returns.

Ezequiel Carrera hit the disabled list with a fractured right foot Tuesday. It is not yet known if he will need surgery. Dwight Smith was recalled to play left field

Matt Kemp went on the disabled list in April with right hamstring tightness. He left the game last night with left hamstring tightness. Do some stretches dude, for real, you aren’t 23 anymore.

Cam Bedrosian says he will be ready to return after an appearance at Class-A tonight. I will believe it when I see it.

Pretty confident, Knock on wood, everything goes well tomorrow. It’s gone a lot better than last week.Cam Bedrosian

Jean Segura did agility drills and took batting practice yesterday. The Mariners will know in the next couple days if he is going to need a rehab assignment

Julio Urias hit the disabled list because of a sore shoulder, and currently on his way to get MRI.

Rays hitters are the worst in the American League against left-handed pitching. They are 8-14 when a lefty starts and 27-18 when a righty starts.

The Indians have lost eight of their their last 12 games. They own the worst interleague record in the American League, at 1-9, outscored 69-32 in those 10 games.

The Giants got ten hits yesterday but nine of them were singles and they went 2 for 10 with runners in scoring position.

Jose Quintana, David Robertson, Todd Frazier, Derek Holland and Tommy Kahnle are all possible trade pieces for the rebuilding White Sox. It is not known weather Avisail Garcia is on the list.

Expect Oakland to call up their top three prospects, Matt Chapman, Franklin Barreto and Matt Olson in the near future

Buster Posey felt sudden pain in his surgically reconstructed ankle after hitting a home run last night but it sounds like he may only miss two games. Grab Wilson Ramos if he is still available in your league..

I wore my Mets hat out the first night I was in Philadelphia, and when I told that to GoFigure, she said, "Mets in Philly, no good. Philly is a total homer town, home teams only. If you aren't sporting home colors, there's no good interaction." Then I tried to talk to a girl at […]

Cam Bedrosian will not be activated today as expected because he is ‘not ready’ to face live batters. Is this guy soft or what is the deal? Just when you started to like Gerardo Parra, he hurts his neck and sits somewhere in between the bench and the disabled list. Expect him to hit the […]

Last week Pete Mackanin benched Maikel Franco for two games, but instead of talking to him, he waited for Franco to approach him. Last year he did the same thing to Odubel, who never showed up to talk about it because he thought he was getting rest. WTF kind of communication is this?

Joe Maddon isn’t ‘ready’ to give up on Ian Happ even though he is 2 for his last 21 and struck out four times last night. Is this the same as not giving up on Kyle Schwarber as the leadoff batter? That worked out well. The question is when, not if they will give up […]
